Privacy notice: the waiting list

This notice explains what happens to the details you give us when you join the Virtual School waiting list.

Who we are

Virtual School is run by Virtual School Limited, company number 16555294, Horizon Works, Prudhoe NE42 6LP. For anything about your data, email admin@virtualschool.co.uk.

What we collect

Your name, your email address, your child’s year group, whether you live in the UK, and anything you choose to tell us about why you’re looking. We also record which advert or link brought you to the page.

Why we use it

To send you a confirmation, to keep you updated about the school as it gets ready to open, and to understand which of our adverts work. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of services to run the waiting list: Supabase (where the list is stored), Resend (which sends our emails) and Vercel (which hosts this page). They only handle your details on our behalf.

If you arrived from a Facebook or Instagram advert, we tell Meta that a signup happened so it can measure the advert. Your email address and name are scrambled (hashed) before they are sent, so Meta can only match them to an account it already knows about. We never sell your details or share them for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove you, or three years after you joined the list, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold, have them corrected, or have them deleted. Email admin@virtualschool.co.uk and we’ll act on it within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
